Jamar Pinkney, Jr. - It is a Sad (Mad) World

It’s a sad, sad world. It is truly a (mad) sad world, when a father serves as judge and executioner of his own son. 15 year old Jamar Pinkney, Jr.’s father shot him once in the head because his mom, asked the father to come over and help-out after Jamar told his mom he sexually molested his 3 year-old sister. Jamar a stellar student and athlete, confesses to his mom because of his remorse. His father could have served a unique role; he could have loved and redeemed his son. Father’s can love their sons and can love them by virtue of their role as Father. A father is able to offer a son the ultimate act of love, by forgiving him of any transgression.

However it is somewhat easier in the eyes of some, that the world is better off without young men, (especially) young black men. It is assumed by many that young black men have no redeeming value. They are marked and eyed for death, by their brothers in crime, by their enemies, some vile police officers, judges and now a father.
Where do young black men go for love? Think about it, when was the last time you cared for a young black man. When were you his mentor, friend and redeeming judge? Love a young black man, even with his faults and you will cover a multitude of sins.

Peace and love.
